Ashley Pike, Director
Ashley Pike is a renewable energy researcher in St. John’s, Newfoundland. She is a mom to two young girls, who light up her life and challenge her every day. After her first child was born in 2017, Ashley knew something wasn’t right. The window for the baby blues had passed, but the feelings of sadness, fear and shame remained. She was eventually diagnosed with postpartum depression, anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder. It is this lived experience which inspires her to advocate for perinatal mental health promotion and prevention in Newfoundland and Labrador. Her goal is to normalize perinatal mood disorders and ensure those who are experiencing symptoms know they are not alone, and that support is available. Ashley is interested in connecting with others who have experienced perinatal mood disorders and those who want to learn how to support new parents in this area.
