Karen Clarke, Director

Karen is a mother, social worker, counselor, doula, and policy and project director.She has worked in the public sector since 2008 in areas of child, youth, family, and community wellbeing delivering direct client services, developing policy and programs, and managing collaborative projects. She is a member of the board of directors for the Atlantic Summer Institute on Healthy and Safe Communities, which researches and promotes best practices in health promotion and prevention. Karen is the owner of Open Book Doula and Counseling Services where she offers programs and services that prepare and support new parents during the perinatal period. She is passionate about proactively educating, counseling, and supporting new parents.
